You don't need to feel intense burning or experience visible peeling for an acid treatment to be effective. Consistency + barrier support will almost always win over aggressive exfoliation.

Mandelic Acid | AHA: One of our favorite exfoliating acids for clients who want results without immediately reaching for the most aggressive option.

Mandelic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that exfoliates the skin's surface to improve the appearance of dullness, uneven texture, discoloration and post-breakout marks.

Because mandelic acid has a larger molecular size than some other AHAs, such as glycolic acid, it penetrates more slowly — one reason it's often chosen when a gentler approach to chemical exfoliation is desired.

 

Salicylic Acid | BHA: Unlike AHAs, salicylic acid is oil-soluble, allowing it to work within oily, congested pores.

It helps loosen excess sebum and dead skin buildup, making it especially useful for blackheads, clogged pores, oily skin and blemish-prone complexions.

 

Licorice Root: A soothing botanical particularly useful in formulas targeting uneven tone and post-inflammatory discoloration. It helps support a brighter, more even-looking complexion.
